MBRAUN OLED
/ PLED Spin Coater
Spin coaters are systems for the production of thin films
on flat substrates. The solution is placed on the substrate,
either manually or by fluid dispensing systems, which
is than rotating at high speed in order to spread the
fluid by centrifugal force. The substrate is fixed by
vacuum during the rotation.
MBRAUN integrates spin coaters in gloveboxes to allow
the user a dispensing of materials which are very sensitive
to Oxygen and moisture.
Spin coating is a wet process where a certain amount
of solvent is necessary. To avoid that solvent vapors
contaminate the glovebox atmosphere, the exhaust
of the spin coater is connected with the MBRAUN
gas purification system.
Solvent vapors are extracted and removed by using
so called solvent filters (LMF). The solvent filter
removes solvents by physical adsorption on activated
charcoal or molecular sieve. |

Typical laboratory spin coaters are available for substrate
sizes up to 4'' x 4'' or wafers up to 5'' with a manual
dispensing of the fluid.
